Wellness Trends for 2019

New year, new you? If your resolutions include wellness -- or even if you're maintaining your healthy habits -- you'll want to check out these trends. In 2019, we'll be seeing more of these for the care and improvement of our bodies and even our planet.

Fitness Anywhere

Working out is still a top priority -- just not necessarily in a class or at the gym. From dance and yoga videos on YouTube, to fitness apps, to daily exercise lists found all over Pinterest, you can break a sweat anytime, anywhere.

CBD Products

Cannabidiol, or CBD -- an active ingredient found in hemp and cannabis -- is turning up in more and more health and wellness products. Unlike the mind-altering THC component found in cannabis, CBD doesn't give you a high. It's been studied and used for a range of health issues, such as pain, anxiety disorders, epilepsy, and even cancer. You'll find straight CBD oil that you swallow, CBD lotions you use on your skin, and even CBD suppositories to relieve period pain. Even though its use is spreading, CBD isn't legal in every state (yet) -- check the laws where you live.

Retinol Alternatives

Skin creams with retinol are a standard for inducing skin to make collagen, but not everyone can tolerate the burn (products usually call it a "tingle") or resulting dry skin. So people are turning to bakuchiol, which can perform like retinol but is more gentle. As an extract from the babchi plant, bakuchiol is an Ayurvedic skin aid. So even though it's already been in use for a long time, look for bakuchiol to be a bigger trend.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

The news about health and environmental problems with plastic seems to get worse with every headline. So more and more, people are looking for plastic alternatives, like reusable glass or fabric, or paper. We welcome having more natural, biodegradable products that are better for us and the world.

IV Therapy

More and more, IV (intravenous) therapy isn't just for hangovers or those in the hospital. Clinics and wellness centers promote treatments of IV minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants to alleviate fatigue, detox the body, and prevent colds or the flu. If you try this trend, be sure to go to a reputable clinic.
